Help Uploading Binary

LuMa GamesLuMa Games USAMember Posts: 129

So I've been following @jamie_c video tutorials on Udemy, and I am stuck. I am done with my app completely and have filled out all the information on itunes connect and am trying to upload my .app to itunes so I can submit it for review. I am using Mac in Cloud, (because the cookbook said it would work) and now i'm stuck. Mac in Cloud's website says application loader is included but I cant find it anywhere. I think it's in xcode, but I have no idea how to use xcode at all. Could someone please walk me through the process of uploading my binary or .app file to itunes connect so I can submit my app for review?

Open Xcode and go to the menu click on Xcode/Open Developer Tool/Application Loader/Deliver Your App. Click on Choose and upload your ZIPPED/COMPRESSED file.

You don't have to worry about that until February and GS have said they will have it covered by then.

oh okay, also for some reason it says my binary supports ipad, so I need screenshots for ipad. I coded for iphone in game salad though...

Did you create a universal or iPhone binary when you published? If you created a universal you will need screenshots for all devices.

Well apparently I created a universal, so does that mean that my game will work on the iPad? I hope not cause the screen will get stretched and look terrible...

Yes it means it will go on any Apple device which also means it will probably get rejected if it looks real bad and or doesn't function on all devices. You may be able to make it work as a universal read the instructions below in my signature. The other alternative is to use Developer Rejected on iTunes and upload a new build for iPhone only. In either case you will have to submit a new build.

So where do I select iPhone binary? I don't remeber seeing the option other than in Game Salad, which I did select iPhone

On the publishing server when you publish.

Could you be more specific? do you mean on the game salad website? or itunes connect page? or uploading through xcode?

When you click publish in Creator it takes you to the GS publishing portal. There you have three choices for iOS builds they are iOS Universal, iPhone and iPad.

I just created a windows project, uploaded it and I got all the options as shown in the screenshot. I would say check to see if you are logged in but you can't see that page if you are not. Open a support ticket and see what they say.

It worked haha, I can't believe I didn't think of that. I submitted my game for review about an hour ago, can I cancel the request and upload a new binary?

Yes it will "developer reject" your current binary. When you submit your new one, make sure its under a different version. Example: Version 2.0 instead 1.0 etc
