GS supporting 64-bit versions

QwazzMeQwazzMe Member, PRO Posts: 39

Any news on whether GS is coming (SOON, please!) with an upgrade that allow us to publish in either 32- and 64- bit versions??

  • Until then how can we handle that???

I've had seen it, @djdee. I heard that GameSalad was making a new update to solve the problem, but I never hear about it from and "official source".

And new builds without 64-bit version won't be approved after February, according to information on iTunesConnect...

i understand that old builds will need an update with the 64-bit version by June.

We are working on it should have a RC out today with iOS 64bit support.

Great news, but should I submit using an RC?

@PhilipCC, we don't have much of a choice at this point. App review times are currently around 9 days, which would mean games submitted today, have a good chance of only being reviewed after the 1st. The wording from Apple is not clear if the cut off for 64bit is "on submission" or "on review".

We found some bugs on android and the iOS view that are holding up the build. Should have a better update tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

Correct me if I misunderstood but there is no way of publishing on ios now?

@LumpApps, no, waiting for this eagerly myself. Have a handful of apps that need to get out.

But I prefer them to be sure that the Storage allocation problem and 64bit implementation is 100%. Review times are sooo long at the moment that I would hate a rejection.

    @LumpApps‌
you can publish on iOS without problem i just uploaded 2 new apps.
You get the warning, but thats it, its just a warning.

It's a about a requirement from feb. onwards.
So the gamesalad team still has more than a week to bring the 64 bit fix.

So far you can publish with no probs.

Yep (not necessarily unjustifiably so though, from the point of a user).

I think only those who are themselves caught up in the flux of the mobile development landscape appreciate the workload involved in staying abreast of thing.

Most developers here lose sight of the benefits of a tool like GS. All the complexities that it takes care of for us, which would (on the scale of the average GS created game) probably mean 10x the development time.
