State of GameSalad on 1-23-2015

Hello again all you GameSalad fans! I’ve gathered some info to share with you guys, enjoy!

  1. Graphene SDK (previously known as “Cross platform Creator”). More info will be shared with this topic from CodeWizard periodically. He most recently stated that “There's nothing inherent in Graphene that requires you to make games. Although, the systems currently built are game-centric. But that's not stopping folks from adding the necessary bits to make a non-game app.” For more info or to sign up for beta access, refer to this thread: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/75011/introducing-graphene-sdk/

  2. Release 12 for the Windows version of GameSalad Creator. We’re still working hard on getting the Windows version of Creator up to date with the Mac version. Detecting if native preview can be used is one such thing that was completed recently.

  3. Release 0.13.0. for the Mac version of Creator. Work is coming along on this as we’re working to fix the bugs that you guys have found using the release candidates. Once we have the bugs worked out enough we’ll push out a stable release for everyone!

  4. New Release Candidate for the Mac version of Creator! We put out another Release Candidate for the Mac version of Creator recently that includes 64-bit support for iOS apps and are working towards fixing the known issues. Feel free to grab a version of it here http://gamesalad.com/download/releases and check out this thread for more info and to report any issues you may find using the newest Mac release candidate: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/76474/release-candidate-0-12-18-is-available-with-ios-64-bit-support.

  5. Nightly build for the Windows version of Creator. We are currently working towards fixing the known issues in the Windows nightly build.   6. New marketplace. Haven't heard any updates on this end (due to Dan being out of town , but I'm sure there will be some for next week!

    Great stuff ! :) Any estimate on Mac 0.13.0 arrival date, even a ball park figure ? Looking forward to the improved image handling (which hopefully translates into speed improvements).

    I too would like to know a (realistic) ballpark range for when we'll get to see 0.13.0 for Mac!

    Is there to be any new ad related features I no we have Revmob and chartboost but does anyone make anything from thoes? loving this program BTW

    If I remember correctly, AdMob will be added to GS 0.14.

    I could be wrong, but I don't think admob was on the agenda for GS.

    Facebook support in GS 13 and Admob in GS 14 thats the current path its going.

    That's what BlackCloakGS said at the January Meetup... if it's still at the top of the Feature Request list when he gets to it.
