A First Foray into game creation

Hey folks! I just started using GameSalad and I am extremely surprised and excited at how user friendly it is. I'm on a quest to bring a game idea I've had for a while into reality, and despite my complete lack of coding or designing experience I may just be able to pull it off!

I look forward to picking brains and consuming tutorials ^_^

That's exactly the way I felt when I discovered GameSalad a couple years ago. I had some limited coding background but found the community here to be very supportive. I've learned so much! Hope you do to. :)

Edit: it's been three and a half years. Guess time flies when you're having fun.

    Newbie here to.

Word of advise watch the "scope creep".

Anyone can multitask, the trick is effective prioritization, manage your time effectively.

Hey that sounded pretty good, I think I said that more for me than you...

You may find that the first game you make is purely a learning curve and you don't end up publishing it. The more you practice, the more ideas you get as your knowledge of GS expands

When I first started I went in blind....always trying to figure out what I wanted to do as I was doing it. I then saw a post talking about a "story board"...writing notes down.

For my slots game I am working on I have loads of notes, pay tables...outlines of sequences.

    This has helped me tremmendously.
