What do all games need

As in my other thread, i'm making a "base-game" that has the necessary components for most games (highscore, custom font, and other tedious things to code every time, etc). This way hopefully I can focus more on the game and not on menus, scoring, store, etc. So this poll is asking what you think is the most important/what most of your games use.
In case i'm forgetting something leave it in the comments.

    All games...need a point system. Even if to just beat your previous score. Even last man standing is one point and the rest are zero.

    The only things that games NEED are to be fun, and well built. Of course all those other things definitely make them better.

    I voted for a universal build. Your game needs to be played by as many people as possible, so make it for more than one device!
