On the gameplay video at the beginning of the post I noticed that when you got to the win screen you had a +1918 or whatever the score was, then directly under it were the coins. For a second it almost seemed as if you were awarded with 1918 coins instead of your score being 1918 and you getting five coins.
From a narrative point of view (and this would require a shipton of additional time put in) I wanted to know why Fran was so frantic?
Maybe you could set up a campaign mode where each of the secret words leads to Fran actually doing something... like if the word is DRIVE then we can watch Fran drive somewhere. But to where? And why is she driving there? And why is she using five letter words to direct her actions? There's all sorts of potential for storytelling.
I understand that this isn't really feasible with a large pool of five letter words but hey, you might just be able to make something happen, and I wanted to share the idea.

Yes, I've noticed that too and wondered if anyone else would mention it. Thanks for bringing that up - I will probably go back and adjust that.

Who is Fran? The lady character in the game? She's not really in the game much. I wanted to have a wigged out character for the tutorial instead of random text popping up explaining what to do. Really this is her main purpose.

Great thoughts! However, I'm honestly going to skip this one. I've spent 2 years on and off on this project and I just want to get it out there. If this was essential to the game, then I would not overlook. Since it's not needed for game play, however, I'm going to leave it out.

Final beta build (hopefully!) sent off to Apple. Should be in testers hands in a few days. Thanks for all the support and feedback on this game - it has greatly improved since testing began!
If I remember correctly - Smash Words by EA - was removed from the App Store. So either take that as less competition or the game didn't sell well. Could go either way, hopefully the first
It's cool and that and I think you deserve for it to be on the app store, it's just that this game is not something people will be playing for a long period of time, people might download it and play it for a few 15 minutes and then maybe another 10 minutes the next week.

Beta testing is just about finished. All I need to do now is set up the In-App Purchases.
