How to test app on device?

I have an apple ipod touch 4 gen that only goes up to 6.1.6 ios .. I was using testflight app but apple bought them out and now they require ios 8 and up.. I also can't use xcode because when I connect my ipod touch to my laptop via USB it doesnt register.. so does anyone know another way to test app files ? Thank you :)

you will have to make adhoc versions on your apps i believe

as long as you have an adhoc version and provisioning profile for that adhoc just drag into iTunes and sync your iPod touch

go ahead and google test adhoc on iPhone, there are thousands of tutorials on how to do it, you can pick anyone you'd like, once you get the build out of game salad it's just like any other app.
