You're right, Darren @DeepBlueApps. I suppose part of this was venting about things i find frustrating but never express. Mainly this means posts that don't contain enough information. April Fools seemed a channel for some silliness but it probably wasn't in good taste.
It wasn't meant to be a slam against other users but rather something that some long-time users might recognize and get a chuckle out of. But as I tell my kids, "intent doesn't always equal impact" and I didn't think the impact all the way through.
I'm sorry that I used this platform for something insulting. Thanks for being willing to say it bothered you.
Seemed a great way to highlight how difficult some user make it to help them without pointing specific fingers, or posting a "you people annoy me" thread. Often issues like this can be addressed in a lighthearted way that is entertaining to those who suffer the consequences of it, and the people who it might be argued to condescend to are very unlikely to even notice it, and even less likely to be offended. After all, who would read this post and go "Hey that's ME! I'm vague and don't listen and make it really difficult to help me!"
@tatiang, actually when I first saw the thread title and the poster, I thought "wow, what the heck kind of game could he be asking about that is causing him confusion!?"
I thought it was quite funny too, people are so entitled at times (not to mention the lack of humor). They expect the world with no effort on there part. That's why I don't think it's condescending. Just some light-hearted forum humor with a bit of real world relevance.
We all know @tatiang is often the first to help and has done so much for people without asking for anything.
I also thought this was just a bit of good humoured fun and in no way condescending, the context plainly justifies the humour, this is @tatiang after all, the one man question answering machine with the patience of a saint, helping people who others can't be bothered with, following through on questions to the bitter end, making sure people get their issues resolved . . . and he gets told off for having a little bit of lighthearted fun on April Fools day !?

I'd be very surprised if there's anyone on these forum's who has helped more visitors than @tatiang. Patience of a saint is understating it!

Unless the comment by Darren was an April fools joke. :P
I believe as it dragged on it became more less funny, only because the "jokes" used were about actual user questions, some pretty recent. Sometimes its hard asking for help, i don't think people post in these boards hoping that they are made fun off in secret.

I'm going to go ahead and close this. I appreciate the support from people who chimed in as well as comments from those who didn't find it humorous. I obviously can see both sides of the story here.

I know the guy in that video.
I don't think anyone was criticising the video. He did a good job with it!
@Armelline Oh I didn't think so either. His videos now are even better though. He teaches swift.
Seemed like a fun and funny April Fools joke to me. Nothing wrong with a little fun, a sense of humor goes a long way...

If that's the case then my comment is also an April fools joke
Nothing posted after April 1 can be a joke, not possible, no, never... it can't happen...
There I go breaking my own rule!
One exception:
