Will Google Play Leaderboards be available anytime soon?

I asked this question almost a year ago I'm sure.. Just wondering once again. Amazon leaderboards don't quite cut it for me on android!

could be a big driver for engagement for my game too.
in the iOS version they really hardly compete because of it.
That and expansion files for android would be great! I think there are feature requests for both, and both have been confirmed as coming at a later undetermined date.

So i'm guessing once they get through the current stuff in progress, this will be looked at again.
You could also create your own leaderboard with the new server behaviors. I'd like to see Google leaderboards at some point too.
I haven't even published to Android since my first game! I just don't see the need to without competition. It would be a great feature to see. (I'm aware of Amazon GameCircles, but when I tried it out, none of my friends new how to do it, and it was a big hassle to sign up)
I just signed up for game circle and it took me less than 1 minute. Perhaps they've redone their system?
The users of google play do not usually have a amazon count, The best option is implantation the Google Play Game Services because all users have a google count.
I hope that in the next version is available.
