is there any way to get rid of that bounding box that you see when you click an actor in the scene... i have some pretty small actors that i just simply want to alt and duplicate an actor

It can't be done, and yes it does really get in the way with small actors - the bounding box (and rotation handle) should have a minimum size, so it would be 200 x 200 px on a 200 x 200 px actor, it would be 100 x 100 px on a 100 x 100 px actor, but when the actor is smaller than 100 x 100 px the bounding box (and rotation handle) stays at the 100 x 100 px size, so when you click on your 12 x 4 px actor a 100 x 100 px bounding box (and rotation handle) pops up to control the position, size and rotation of the actor.

You can always use the arrow keys to move an actor once selected.
