Missing Project files

I have a file that I keep old test projects on . I recently noticed some of the projects have disappeared, their icon changed to a small empty page. I haven't opened them in a while. I can't seem to find any relation between them. Anybody have any ideas on this one?

    Are they on a remote server like dropbox or google drive? I've occasionally had problems with files syncing correctly (Gamesalad or otherwise).

    When I've had that problem, the files were fine on the 'source' machine they were created on, but out of sync (or whatever the problem is) in the cloud. So I could go to the dropbox folder on the machine I created them at and open them fine there, but not on any other machines connected to the synced drive.
