Unused screenshots still in app project and compiled apps

It seems GS is not deleting unused screenshots from level previews and these are being included in the compiled apps along with other unused images and sounds. It's easy enough to delete normal unused images and sounds from within GS but the screenshots are not accessible in the GUI. Instead you have to right-click on the .gameproj file and choose "Show Package Contents" from the contextual menu and then look in the screenshots folder. By deleting a bunch of outdated ones, I removed several Mb's from my final app.

It would be nice if unused images and sounds got removed during compilation, but these hidden ones should at least be visible in the app if not.

I checked a few compiled apps not too long ago to be sure the screen shots weren't being included. I couldn't find any sign of them in the compiled game. Are you sure they're being used?

@Armelline The file size of the .app went down after I deleted them and nothing else. I should maybe double check that just to be sure though.

I agree for screenshots but unused anything is up to you to keep your project clean and organized.

One could argue for a case where the developer might want to have assets in a project while they are building new features and levels that don't yet make it into the build.

One could argue there are better features time can be spent on. :)
