GameSalad Play button not working

The play button on the black bar (not the preview button) won't work. I'm following a tutorial (off another site) and i was to create a player and have it accelerate down. So i added a simple white block then added "accelerate" set it to 270 under direction. When i clicked on the play button the square just moves on the spot back and forth like something is wrong then i tried pressing stop then play and now it does nothing. When i click preview everything is fine just not when testing on the game area itself. I am using Mac OS 10.10.5 and i'm currently running the trial of GameSalad.

Preview is the main game area testing and the green play button is the proper one to be testing. I forget what that other play button does.

In my experience is takes elements of your scene and does random things with them, ideally unrelated to any logic you've included.

In all seriousness, I too have no idea what the actual intended functionality of it is. I've never seen any rhyme or reason to it.

That secondary play button used to work great to control the scene after it had started. You could pause and then play the scene at different times. But that was probably ten versions of GameSalad Creator ago and it hasn't worked correctly since.

If I remember I thought it could be used to step through the scene and pause activity and then pickup right where you left off.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I will just use preview then. I was worried it was because i'm using a mac with 10.10.5 and thought maybe it wasn't supported.
