    Does it feel to stressy?
    Is the text too much? Is the text enganging or to flat?
    Does the blue text break the labeling pattern in a good or bad way?

  • pHghostpHghost London, UKMember Posts: 2,342

    I'd reorder them. Have the 'stolen' one first and then the ones with text describing gameplay.

    I like the blue text, not sure that just "Stolen" is descriptive enough. Maybe "Your bunny has been stolen" or "His bunny was stolen" and make that the first screenshot, then show the gameplay descriptions next and finally "save the bunny". Or alternatively show stolen and then immediatly save the bunny followed by the gameplay decriptions. That way it kind of tells a story.

    Also "cast and fly" might be better worded as "Cast while flying!", but just some thoughts.

    @pHghost
    @AlchimiaStudios

    very nice both seem to agree to go first with Stolen one.
    I thought about during ordering but was then picking the most action one as first.
    But there is a lot of games with action upfront so the bunny also ads more depth and a kind of intro into it.

    @BigDave,

    Looking great! If it were my game/video, I'd change it to "an adventure by" to entice people to download it, while also using exclamation marks ("bunny!!!" and "goblins!!!") to add a sense of urgency.

    I hope this is another hit for you!

    @mhedges

    if not i better learn something I sank again way to much time into it.
    I always get disappointed by investing too much time.
    My most successful games were products within a week to a month.

    I assume it has something to do with clarity.
    A clear game vision is quicker executed instead of one where I still try to find out where to go with it.

    You are probably able to make a smaller game in a week because of all the stuff you learned doing the bigger projects.

    Like the video. Personally really like the use of 'the masterpiece,' superbly tongue in cheek.

  • BigDaveBigDave Member Posts: 2,239

    @pHghost
    thanks yeah I thought same but was thinking long about it.
    I leave it.

    @Socks
    its also the other way round. Small games enable me to make bigger once with confidence as I learn the whole process in and out by doing it many times.

    @mhedges
    using exclamation marks I am always afraid of appearing to needy
    -plump hardly trying to make it mean more by adding them. But maybe I am wrong.

    @BazookaTime
    Thanks Buddy

    So I need testers, I setup a Google Play Beta Test.
    If you want to play it upfront and give me early feedback send me your email either here or over private message.

    @RossmanBrothersGames
    never did a testflight before i can try to set one up
    Android already got tested and I could fix a couple of things
    like lava particles had to be reduced and only trigger while on screen or else it could lag on some android devices

  • BigDaveBigDave Member Posts: 2,239

    alright i handed it to test flight beta review send me your emails if you want a test flight

    Here the first two levels of the game in their final state with voices.

  • ChunkypixelsChunkypixels Member Posts: 1,114

    @BigDave personally, I really don't like the game with the voices in.. I find them rather annoying, and feel that they actually break the retro ambience of the game. I think it would work much better without voices and with simple, more subtle, audio/musical prompts instead. Or at the very least much more toned down voice acting...

    I really liked the game up until the version you just showed with the voices... and I have to say it kills the game for me now... I wouldn't be able to play it for more than one level before uninstalling it. The voices are really irritating/grating/too much.

    Thats only my personal opinion... others might totally disagree.

    @Chunkypixels
    right i think its the opnion of most indie devs.
    Was the same with creepy back than.

    But creepy only took off after adding the voices.
    They are a strong feature that are not that well appricated by the indie or retro scene but well received from the younger audience 13-20 years.

    Think about pewdiepie beeing super loud and hectic and beeing hard to stand for most adults but beeing loved by the kids

    I will have to do some tuning regarding loudness tough
    my main problem right now is that he doesnt sound like an old fella

  • ChunkypixelsChunkypixels Member Posts: 1,114

    Have an option to switch voices off... simples :)

    Infovox's text to speech "Old Man" voice is pretty good / high quality, there's a 30 day free trial.

    Scroll down to US English - and hit preview on "Old Man".

    I actually like the voices but an option to switch them off would probably be a good idea. Looking forward to this, hope it is a huge hit!

  • BigDaveBigDave Member Posts: 2,239

    Thanks guys!

    @Socks
    it actually sounds very neat as a last option I coul try it. The benefit would be to get and endless amount of samples. But ofc you still can hear the difference between real human doing it once they are properly briefed.

    I hope he will give the wizard another take with the rest iam happy.
    Right now all voice overy will be implemented tomorrow than I brief him again.
    If he is not willing I will consider.

  • pHghostpHghost London, UKMember Posts: 2,342

    Have you uploaded a version to testflight yet? I'm not seeing anything.

  • BigDaveBigDave Member Posts: 2,239

    @pHghost
    Yep the pre-voices one but I am not so sure about test flight i did it quickly.
    Just uploaded a build and handed it to this test review

  • pHghostpHghost London, UKMember Posts: 2,342

    Yeah, I'm not user if you have to approve the publish, or whether there was a error adding me to the TestFlight team. TestFlight seems a bit hit and miss.

    Looking great. I'm probably in the no voice over camp too, but with an option to turn off that shouldn't be an issue.

    One random thought - maybe use YOUR bunny, rather than THE bunny. More sense of belonging etc.

  • YeezyHypeBeastYeezyHypeBeast Member Posts: 60

    I'm 14 and I'm gonna go with a no voice option aswell. I know what you mean when you say kids love loud annoying voices like PewDiePie. I can't figure that out. By the way, the game looks amazing!

    Yes, agreed, there's a difference, but that's actually what I like about those kinds of voices, I really like artificial 'plastic' computer voices in games, for me that kind of sound goes with the visual 8bit aesthetic.
