Bug with particle system? Generates a single particle first and then it works fine

Hello guys,
I'm having this issue for a while now. I'm not sure when it started as I don't use particles that often, but I think it's since the 1.25 ver.

Anyway, the thing seems like a bug to me, but it's absolutely possible I'm doing something wrong here. When I give an actor a particle behavior, it creates just 1 single particle, that lasts for the entire lifespan I set, and then AFTER this single particle it starts generating all the particles I want regularly. I tried this in 2-3 projects now and I have this issue all the times.

Maybe since the 1.25 there's some new option I'm not seeing?

What am I doing wrong here? :/

Thanks for your help

Longstanding bug, been there for years. It's triggered by changing the particle startup time, if I remember right.

I always set it to 0. I'll try changing that and see what happens. Thanks

Ok, if I don't change the startup time the issue seems to be solved. I'm wondering then what exactly is the purpose of that value and why is not default at 0 :/
