Megaman style camera

Hey you guys I'm not sure if this question has been asked before but I am looking to make a Megaman style camera that slows down when you drop... My game has a lot of drops in it and I need the player to see what's going on... I hope you all know what type of camera I'm talking about lol

    Played megaman II just now and I don't see the camera slowing.......

    If the camera is following your player already, just slow the speed at which the player falls.
