I put Air Supply SOS up on Steam Greenlight over a year ago in the hopes that by the time it got greenlit, there may have been the option to export to steam via GameSalad.
It just got greenlit today! Hurrah! \o/
I know you can make steam ready games via html5 and a converter thingy, and that GS has taken a more 'educational' direction of late, but is 'native' publishing to steam/pc anywhere near being done yet?
I really hope .exe is still in the realm of possibilities because steam is really a huge market for indies and .exe is a great way for students to share their games.
In addition, good GS games on steam means good word of mouth for the engine itself.
Great news Quantum Sheep!
I also have GS games which have been greenlit so am hoping .exe export will come along sometime soon... but I'm not particularly optimistic!
As usual, they've launched an initiative without being fully prepared.
For an educational push, I'd say native PC publishing has to be THE most important feature (thats missing)... even above UI improvements.
Most educational establishments are on limited budgets, so will kit out departments with PCs, rather than Mac. They will want to be able to publish and demo students work easily across those PCs... not to mobile or Mac.
So I'd like to think it would be a much higher priority behind closed GS doors, than folk realise.
But maybe I'm wrong, maybe its not.... wouldn't be a surprise.

I imagine they could get round that by offering html5 publishing?
Would love to be able to get this out. Let me have a think about it!

Well deserved!
Best wishes in the voting!
Thanks all for the lovely support - though there's no need to vote for the game!
Realistically, against that kind of competition, it doesn't stand a chance, bless it!
To even be considered against said competition though is just fun and hugely rewarding to me personally - that's all I need
It's made my year for sure!
Cheers,

Voted. I for one would rather play Air Supply - SOS, some of those big name titles just feel empty.
You are on that list for a reason, don't put yourself below other bud
Awesome news @quantumsheep !!! Good luck with the voting, I'll be adding my +1. You're in good company but you deserve it
It´s the Illuminati All-seeing Eye pyramid on the fourth, green coloured picture!
This game will make you tons of money!!!!!!
(It looks really good, will try it out when I´ve got the time!
)
Cheers,

Good catch, no wonder it got all the attention. Like some people say, the devil pays better.
Got my vote
Just voted for you man!
Appreciate the votes, thanks!

Great. I'll make a high score run video for this as well. My video for the Air Supply didn't go as planned but this time I'll do it right.
Nice to see you QS!
@quantumsheep - Have you thought of having a app bundle for your games? I would definitely purchase it if you did.
Nice to see you too
I'd only really consider it if I made a 4th Air Supply game so I could bundle it as a Trilogy...
So not in the immediate future I guess!

I see what you did there

Excellent !
Congrats on getting greenlit! Unfortunately, i think the native .exe support is not coming anytime soon (if at all).
Awesome, congratz on greenlight!

@ForumNinja @bdusing
Any updates on this?
@quantumsheep Good going. I wondered where you have been these past six months... sleeping from counting too many I suspected.
Great news @quantumsheep , congrats!
Congrats Quantumsheep, good luck with Robots in Love as well.

Thanks everyone for the congrats and encouragement - this is still the friendliest forum out there!
