Here's a little update about what we're working on:

Next Update (1.25.x): I still don’t have a precise date on this release, but I believe we’re on the last round of bug fixes. fingers crossed.

That being said, Tan has started looking into implementing Google Play services for you guys as we know that’s something you all want. The nice thing here is that the current behaviors we have inside GameSalad look like they’ll play nice with Google.

Tan also tried creating a build with the new Chartboost sdk in it, though our build servers have not been cooperating.

Game of the Week: I’ll be keeping an eye out for games that you guys are releasing, and once a week I’ll do a social media blast promoting a game as our game of the week. This week was 20 Seconds by @unbeatenpixel!

We are thinking of rewards to hand out for being named game of the week. If you guys have some suggestions drop them here! One idea was to give out a huge asset pack with 541 total files (107 different animations, 208 audio files, and 226 individual images that don’t animate).

Being awarded game of the week doesn't prevent you from getting game of the month etc :)

Teacher Dashboard: The new teacher dashboard has spent some time with a select group of teachers, and will be getting pushed live soon. For instructions on how to use the new dashboard, refer to here: http://help.gamesalad.com/knowledge-base/set-assignments-educator-dashboard/

GameSalad Curriculum: The new curriculum we've been building is coming along nicely, with only a few more units to go. It's received a ton of positive feedback from educators as well which is awesome!

Side note: today is CodeWizard's birthday.

A signed photograph of CodeWizard fighting a couple of awsome reindeer would be good.

By Google Play Services are we mainly talking leaderboards? Or is there more to it?

Good to know. Also please look into the Android sound lag, @ForumNinja , for another update. That would put Android apps on par with iOS apps.

@RossmanBrothersGames I believe it will be support for leaderboards and achievements similar to Game Center etc.

The build server finally started cooperating and I was able to get some testing in for the Chartboost SDK update and it looks to be functioning correctly.

We should be able to push an update that provides it to everyone later on today.

  • @ForumNinja awesome, thanks! Should make a gamesalad game more able to get featured on Google Play

@ForumNinja Great news! Do you know if this also fixes the "scene change freezing" issue on Android? Got a review today from somebody who was experiencing this issue and gave me 4 stars because of it, Could haven been 5 o:)

Excellent, if you can't arrange the reindeer then see what they've got in the aquarium, I'll be happy with a couple of squid, squid are pretty badass.

@ForumNinja this version 1.25.73 has great performance, so that makes me very happy since I was stuck on 1.25.62 as my complicated actors could not be opened. But the stretched/rotated loading image bug is still present. I think this has to be fixed if anyone want to release their app, because it looks very unprofessional. Any ETA on fixing this one?

What devices are you seeing this one? I've published to both iOS and Android recently and not experienced it. Narrowing down the exact circumstances it occurs in will definitely aid in getting fixed.

    @ForumNinja

This is what I see when running landscape apps (all settings in scenes and publishing are correct):

    • iPhone 5 - Loading screen is first oriented wrong, then adjusts itself after a second. See video below.

    • iPhone6 Plus and iPad Pro - Loading screen starts off correct, then as the game starts, the scene appears in the wrong portrait orientation for a split second, then corrects itself to landscape orientation.

    • Android devices - Loading screen is first displayed in a more extreme stretched, offset portrait position, before correcting itself to landscape.

There are already six bug reports posted for this.

What about the screen missalignment bug on android after standby? The one where your game becomes unplayable if you don't use the workaround by @izam (LINK) which still results in an ugly unprofessional screen twitch when you return to the game after standby. Is that going to be fixed? This has been reported over a year ago.

If this is what I think it is (I've not seen it on non-Kindle Android) it's even worse on Kindles.
