Is it possible that apple app do not publish on Apple Store？

in iPhone and Android Publishing

I am using android phone. I made some android app by using gamesalad, i can publish and sign the apk file without uploading it on Google Play. And after that, i can install the apk file in my android phone.

Could i know how about iphone？Could I publish the app without uploading it on Apple Store？

    You can either load your game using Xcode, or (and this is what I always do) use TestFlight to load it onto your device or other people's devices for testing. You can't "sideload" it permenantly onto other people's phones like with Android, though.

    Thanks for your anwser, that mean I must publish my apple app in Apple Store. However, may I know if I do not want my app disclose to the public, how could I do？Could I publish my apple app in Apple Store, but set it in private？
