Jesus Wept!

how can I fix this this?

I don't even know what i have, leave alone what i'm supposed to get... its a nightmare.

code signing failed... failed... failed... i've removed, i've replaced, i've replaced, i've removed.

I have a few non gamesalad items on the app store but wanted to do a bit of prep with GS but game salad doesnt want anything to do with any profiles that already exist.

anyone have a definitive apple/gamesalad reference to help get a preview working?

Are you building in XCode as Debug or Release? Debug will show many errors, and Release should work.

what's your exact error message? I had a problem with my projects because I was using an asteric as my app ID - worked great in xcode, but gamesalad doesn't like it. I had to create individual app id's for each app.

I had a code sighing failed issue too. To fix it I removed everything (don't think something is okay not to remove, remove it) and re-downloaded the necessary files. Viola! it worked.

    it says...

    Code signing error

Code signing failed. Make sure your provisioning profile,
developer certificate, and WWDR certificate are installed.

i shall try removing everything again.

    cheers

    Hi Jeffcollins,

I am having the codesigning failed problem as well. I tried deleting the certificates in my keychain and downloaded the same again and installed them. It still doesn't work. Can you list step by step the action you took to fix this issue please? Do I have to change anything in my Xcode? From start my Xcode environment is set on release (not debug).

I have done all others such as creating appID on the provisioning portal etc. I have all three certs..WWDC, Dist and Dev. This is driving me insane.

Yes, I second that. We need one clear, updated, official step by step guide. I have been trying for a week at least

Go to project > Project settings > Change the certificate to your game salad certificate.
  • FranzKellerFranzKeller Member Posts: 517
In which app or website is this found? And which certificate

Xcode itself. And the certificate is the one you made from the dev center that is also used for development on your device.

Necrobump. First time poster, I'm new to the GS world.

I too am having this error message. You say to go to xcode > projects > project setting > etc, but what if I don't have an initial project to work on? I have completed my app in GS, have the appropriate certs, (I'll list them; "Iphone Developer; My Name", "Iphone Distribution: My Name", "Apple Root CA", "Apple Root Certificate Authority", "Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority"), and have 2 provisioning profiles in my organizer, (one doesn't work {A signing identity matching this profile ...} ), and a seemingly working "Current Distribution Certificate", a dev and dist. provisioning profile on my apple dev account, and a working app ID. I know, it's alot of stuff. I still don't know what to do. Help?

Hi, i am having the same proble, i downloaded the WWDDR, i downloaded everything, but when i try to publish the message shows up. i am really getting crazy, i am almost smashing my computer, firss when i oppened the certificates on Key chain, 2 of them were not valid, so i double clicked them and set everything to allways trust, now their status is marked as trusted, not this certificate is valid, maybe this is the problem, i also redownloaded them, but it doesnt work, please someone help me!
    thanks

I too am getting this message after walking through the instructions and creating everything without special characters or spaces in the various IDs. I've been following the guide here, following the process through GameSalad, but reading through this thread makes me think there is an alternate way through Xcode. Is there? Is that one sanctioned by GameSalad?

A related question: I'm just trying to test my app on my iPad (and am not ready to submit it to Apple) -- I *do* have to walk through this process to do that, right?

    Thanks!

Please please someone tell me how to solve this error when compiling and Signing app?

"Code signing failed. Make sure your provisioning profile, developer certificate, and WWDR certificate are installed."

I have done everything and it worked for Development compilation but not APP store compilation...

ancch, I ran into the same issue.. but I was compiling app for my own testing. I just switched to an older development profile (instead of a newly created ad-hoc provisioning profile) and things seemed to work. Not sure if both these are related.. but what the heck.

ancch, have you created your DISTRIBUTION provision and certificates through the iOS dev portal? the distribution provisioning is different than that for developement. Let me know if you still have questions
  • ancchancch Member, PRO Posts: 103
thank thepro, floydianspiral: I have used old and new profiles... I have created distribution provision and certificates through the iOS dev portal, I have downloaded WWDR... nothing works... same error... sigh

I would double check that the certificates are installed..you have to create it in the ios dev center, download it, AND then double click it (or open it with Xcode) in order for it to install (you can see if they are installed correctly in Xcode in the organizer). Then, when you are publishing your game through gamesalad, select the right provisioning when they prompt you to. Then hopefully it will sign the app right and you can use the Application loader. Cheers.

Thanks floydianspiral. Yes created certs in ios dev centre. Ensured that Developer and Distribution certs are installed in key chain access. WWDR also in key chain access.

I opened the xcode organizer. Found the provisioning profile there. Valid. The dev and distribution certs are there.

Frustrating thing is that I could compile a week ago. But not now... help.

Hi all, Facing same issue here. How did you resolve this problem? Help!
  • ancchancch Member, PRO Posts: 103
Solved! For those who face this problem... continue to pull your hair. I don't know what went wrong, but I went on trail and error - deleted all my certificates, provisions in the iOS provisioning Portal. Deleted all the certs in the key chain access, deleted all the provisions in the iphone configuration utility and started all over again... did it many times each time with a different tweak. Finally got it working... Not fun at all!

This worked for me, and maybe it will for you too. I had recently renewed my Developer & Distribution Certificates because my Apple Dev License expired:

    1. Opened Keychain Access in my Applications folder.
    2. Chose My Certificates from the left panel. There were several versions of my iPhone Distribution and iPhone Developer certificates.
    3. Sorted by "Expires" and used right-click to delete duplicate certificates for each Distribution & Developer except the top 2.

Now, in XCode, there are only Identities showing in the Developer Profile pane. Publishing again from Gamesalad now works properly.

Twinpix's solution works perfectly - I had the same problem after I renewed my certificates.

    Thanks

For Anyone still needing help on this you really just have to keep trying. What I did was delete everything, and when I say everything I mean everything! Then I redownloaded and reinstalled everything, I did this about five times until it worked! Just keep trying, you'll get it going soon. Also remember to use the same computer to publish because all of your certificates and such are on that one computer.

    Hope I helped,
