Alright I have an image that was made with AI. How can I add it into GS? Does it only allow png's or will vector images also work with it?

    you'll need to export it as a jpg or png i think, png being preferred.

    File > Save for Web & Devices

    then select the dropdown which says JPG and change to PNG
