Yup that's what I was thinking. Text in an icon sometimes makes it unappealing and too complicated and crowded. #1 is just simple, clean, and looks good
I don't think the intricate parts of 2 ( the fenceposts, the lines converging to a point on the clouds, the two thin lines at the bottom left ) would come out well. Plus, It's October! Who wouldn't want a pumpkin icon grinning back at them from their device :]

I think the vertical stripes kinda disappear when viewed at icon size. Maybe you can make them a bolder color, or give them some kind out outline?
