Chillingo Bought by EA!!!
Weird.
Reuters is claiming that the publisher of Angry Birds, Chillingo, has been snapped up by EA for $20 million. The developer of Angry Birds, Rovio Mobile, isn't part of that deal though. [Reuters via Mashable]

Especially the bit at the end:
In fact, Rovio boss Peter Vesterbacka says, “We will not use Chillingo again”. He claims that when it comes to mobile games, “You don’t need publishers.”

I like the couple of comments below that trash Rovio for 'having an ego' for ignoring what Chillingo did to make them a household name... if Angry Birds been a crummy game, would it have been a household name? Doubtful.
Too many of these publishers are nothing but marketers looking to skim off the top for very little effort.
Personally, I think Rovio's stance is sound.
I cannot believe they made them 2 separate apps, now they get double the money!

I bet if 10 different angry birds were made they would all be on the top 10
