displayText not working in one scene, but working in another

So, this is very weird. I'm working on a new game and I'm having trouble with the displayText behavior in one of my scenes. I have an actor that just displays "hello world", it works in my first scene, but if I drag the behavior into my game scene, it just shows a white box.

has anyone seen this before? I don't want to redo the scene as it has over 50 objects placed and it's my template for every level.

any suggestions? I tried copying the scene and the issue copied with it.

    hrm, it also seems like my timers in this scene don't work.

    I really don't want to redo the whole thing, i wonder if I could go back to an eariler version

    Hi Jon, the only thing I can think of, would be that the actor's Alpha already in the first scene has been made 0, but the prototype actor still has 1 as it's alpha, showing white when you drag it into the scene...

    Edit: Timers now not working now? Something's gotten tangled then, for sure...

    thank god for time machine, I grabbed a copy from 2 hours ago and the scene is working.

    It is odd, but glad for you that you had a previous version; there's nothing worse than losing a tangled game without any previous ones....I've been there, done that, got the teeshirt! :-)
