I have tried to hook my macbook pro (got it a little less than a year ago) to an external monitor. I've tried dvi and hdmi and Iv'e tried 3 different monitors/lcd tvs. All are the highest resolution that BestBuy had. MBP doesn't even seem to recognize. Tried apple care and they were worthless.

Any ideas? Anyone else had this problem?

Not sure the problem, but what shows up on the monitor that you connect to?

If you are close to an applestore, take it in and they will help you.

Is this using the mini display port? Maybe its broken?

Have you looked in preferences > hardware > display - there is an option in there to detect displays?

Yeah, of tried all of that. I think I need to take it in but I'm just too busy to part with it right now and I'm no where near an apple store.

    Thanks for the ideas, guys.
