Making mac apps

Anyone know good softwares to make some mac appstore apps?

Everything else will prob require some sort of coding. So Why not just learn xcode? I mean if your that set on putting stuff on the mac app store knowing xcode will make building universal app a lot easier anyway so you may be better off in the long run
