gamesalad project files and dropbox

Has anyone been using Dropbox to keep their gamesalad project files synced between two locations? I split my development evenly between my imac and macbook air, and I'm constantly zipping the file and transfering it. I used drop box once about a year ago, and the file got corrupted. I thought it was because of all the subfiles in it, but now that I know more about the application, i think it was a random occurance.

I'm going to start using it again because it would make my life so much easier, and just make sure time machine keeps a hourly backup of the file.

anyone else using it?

I'm using it, but filled it up recently...need to pay for more space...I'm also using it to safely backup all my older projects...

stormystudio, are you actively working on a project stored in dropbox or just using it for backup?

    dreamlab, how about you?

I've been using Dropbox for quite a long time now and I've never had trouble with it. I store all types of files: GameSalad projects, office documents, photos, music, etc. Also, Dropbox keeps a history of the different versions of the same document, I think.

I used my mobile me account to upload Gravitrixx so Jake could work on it.

When he'd finished with it, Jake then uploaded the file to Dropbox so *I* could work on it.

The file went back and forth like this for a couple of months with no problems.

    Hope that helps!

Great, that means my last problem was user error :). I'll move back to using it tonight, its a wicked pain in the ass managing it manually since i work on my laptop by day and imac by night

I use it to trade graphics and code and things of that nature. Not to store for back up really. But it is very useful.

I use Dropbox to share GS projects between myself and another developer. We use to actively make changes directly to the dropbox files but we found the file would become corrupt. Not all of the time but just some time. To be safe now we do the work directly on our computers then copy the file back to dropbox.

I LOVE Dropbox but you should be careful when using it to directly update files.

i see nothing wrong with the old fashion method of keeping the file on your desktop.
