Hi

im in the last stage of making my game and i want to animate my player i have drawn him in adobe illustrator
and made a walking sequence of 15 frames, even when i play this back in 30 fps mode it still seems a little joggy almost like a stop motion animation.

i thought i might need to add more frames but when looking at the 'platform template' in GS the blue running player is made up of only 8 frames at 10 fps and is very smooth.

Where am i going wrong ??

Try taking out a few frames in the animation.

You seem to be having some confusion with the framerates.

15 frames at 30 fps = 1 frame of animation for every 2 frames displayed or 1 frame every 0.02 seconds. Meaning that your animation will appear slower.

Lower your fps rate to about 15-20 fps, the transition will be far less noticeable since your animation will be running around 1 frame every 0.01-0.015 seconds.

Rule of thumb, the more frames per second there are opposed to actual frames of animation, the slower/ choppier the animation. Not enough frames per second and the animation is too fast. Find the sweet spot.
