Cant use a background image?

I have created a 480 x 320 image, saved in both jpeg and png format but when I try and drag and drop it onto my background actor it wont accept it, any idea why?

    Make sure it's saved as a 72DPI png. If you're using Photoshop choose the Save for Web option. Also, and you probably did this, but make sure you add it to the images section of the project before you drag it onto the actor

    cheers mulcahy, like a dummy I was dragging straight from finder to GS!
