get attributes of object I'm colliding with

I need to create a rule for an actor that, when it receives an "overlaps or collides" event, checks some basic attributes (position, size) of the object it's colliding with to determine how to respond.

This seems so basic that I can't believe it wouldn't be present, yet I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
