Quick question about App Names

Hi all,
Just a quick question about app names.

I want my 'arty' app, 'Unbearably Wonderful' to be seen like that in iTunes.

However, I'd like to shorten the actual app name on a device to 'Wonderful'

Any ideas on how this works?

Cheers in advance,

QS :)

    Oh... good question !!

Isn't it the long name is what you submit to iTunesConnect and the name they see under the icon is the .app filename ??

when you build the app, just put the name as wonderful, that's what shows up on the iDevice. You can name it differently in the App Store. Wolfenstein does this, Wolf3D on the phone, so doesn't Civilization Revolution (Civ Rev).

I'm going to be doing it with my next update for all my games. Z is for Zombie will just show up as Zombie, V is for Vortex is gonna show up as Vortex.

    Actually, that didn't work :(

The name on the device is still 'unbearably wonderful' instead of just 'wonderful'

I think it took about 3 or 4 days, mate.

Apple really needs to do something about this, I hate seeing things like "Sh....it" on my iPhone.

If xCode weren't removed from the process, there is a very easy way to change the display name on the device to be whatever you wish. This feature must be on the to do list, though.

Yeh it would be good if you could build it as a file do drag and drop into xCode so you can add even more features. Like online web score etc.

With my last GS app "Musician's Little Helper" when I published with GS in the name field I wrote "Musician's LH" and that is what appear on the device.

The AppStore name is whatever you want and you can change it with itunesconnect
