Best way to capture your screen (video)

So Im looking to do some trailers for my game. I have done a little research on which program is the best to use to capture your screen. What does everybody use here. Preferably I would like to get something either freeware or opensource :)

    Hi Mammoth, I reviewed quite a few screen capturing apps a while back, both free and paid. In my experience, most of the free ones did the trick but not very well. Out of the paid-for ones I chose iShowU HD as being the best of the bunch - but that's my personal opinion, of course! Can't remember how much it is, possibly about $25, so it won't break the bank.

    I haven't fully tested it yet, but check out SimpleShare on the Mac App Store. It's from Box, so you get 5 gigs of offline storage along with it.

    Wow sound stage looks great. ANd its only 5 dollars. That's awesome.

    Great trailer BTW. Ill probably get that. Ill mix it wil imovie if I have to. It looks like sound stage will be the best way to make trailers :)

    Quicktime does great quality screen captures, and it's free.

    QuickTime has low framerate capture. I'm using a MacBook 2gb
