i really want to make a game with Jedi in it but i know it would be copyright. in the game dino cap 2 there is a jedi with a lightsaber and the force. it is made by trinity games. would this not also be copyright?

Who knows for sure. They either broke the law, or paid a pantload for the rights. Unless they didn't use any of the names...Is the character called a Jedi, and is his sword called a Lightsaber in dino cap2?

That would be the important thing to consider for your game. The name Jedi is copyrighted. however a warrior that has supernatural powers to control peoples thoughts or will physical objects to move. is not as long as you call that type of person something original. Lightsabers are copyrighted by name. but a sword that has a blade made of a laser beam encapsulated in some sort of electric field would not be.

Trinity games is one of the shadier publishers/developers on the app store.

I would not go down the same route as them.

You can call him a Spirit Warrior and his Star Sword.

dont waste your time contacting them. Theyprobably just used it without copyrights. You CANNOT use the words jedi and lightsaber.

So just think of some new names instead of wasting time

Yea, using anything from star wars without permission is a good way to get sued. They are very protective of their IP
