Hey guys, we had an official bug thread and everyone seemed to have went crazy thinking every thing that acts funny is a bug without verifying... and that seems to have gotten the thread deleted..

So i thought we can start an un-official one that the sous can help moderate and verify if they have the time to.. but don't post unless you are 100% certain it's a bug that is reproducible in controlled environment.

    1st-up
not sure what the problem is, but if you simply make a real type attribute and enter 1111111111, and display text that attribute.. it shows up as 111111016

---------------the following is more of bug i notice consistantly but doesn't have time to verify in controlled environment to single out the issue yet.---------------------------
2nd the copy-paste bug. that seems to happen when heavy copy-paste, is used.

3rd redo-undo, when you redo, the script box moves back to where it was with the value in the box still being the same. (again only happens during certain conditions)

You should fill out a bug report for every bug found. That's the most important thing to do.

just thought it'd be nice if there's a few people who also has the same bug chime in to verify instead of everyone trying to send in a bug report and waste their time testing only to find out it's user error. (i guess. their time is better used fixing the bug than testing it, at least if we have collectively "tested" the beta, why not make it more efficient)

Copy and Paste works if you do it carefully. You won't be able to just copy every rule from an actor and paste it into another project without problems.

I do this all the time, and I don't have any issues…Do it one rule at a time, and make sure that if there are any custom attributes, you create those before you start copy and pasting, and even then you sometimes have to go through and reset the attribute expression editor to reflect the correct attribute.

If you copy and paste an entire set of rules from an actor, you will have problems, but if you go through a little at a time, it works fine. At least it does for me.

right... but, if we have to copy them one by one, then what good does it do. it's understandable when some "links" to attributes gets broken when you copy things over to another actor, but that's not really the bug I was referring to. What i'm referring to is, everything will look as if it copied over and there will be scripts that appears to be there that's not really running, it's been confirmed by another member as well. the only way to fix it is to click on every single expression to make sure it's they are really there (even though there appears to be "text" in the expression box) so the bug isn't really you can't copy large amount of script, it is what appeared to be copied verbatim doesn't run verbatim. and sometimes even if you go through and correct all expression box it still doesn't work, and the only way to fix it is to re-script the whole thing over again.

It still works. It may not be as convenient as simply copy and pasting and everything works out, but it's a workaround until something can be done about it. Like I said, if you just copy and paste everything at once, there will be problems. I know what bug you are referring to. And the method I mentioned has been working for me, and again, it's a temporary work around until something can be done. It's not as fast as a simple copy and paste, but it is still faster than scripting by hand all over again.

It's been working for me, and I haven't come across the script not running when I do it this way. I do experience the script not running when I try to do it all at once.

And there's always Deep Blue Apps Project Merger, but that's another cost.

got it, i'll try doing that instead ... for now.. and hopefully it's being acknoledged as a bug by the GS team so they'll fix it sometimes in the future.

    Hey guys,

We closed the 0.9.6 bug thread because we gathered all the information necessary to get user feedback, spot any new issues, and communicate known issues with the community. As always, your feedback is important to us and helps us shape a better product for the future.

However, the best way to bring bugs to the attention of the GameSalad team is submit them via bugs@gamesalad.com. The more detailed the email- the better. Project information, computer specs, attached project files, etc... will help our team fully investigate these issues. We investigate each reported bug and project sent through that channel.

We will continue to provide general feedback regarding the reported issues on the forums. Again, thank you for your consistent feedback.

    Lauren
