How Important are Press Releases?

Hey guys,

iSubmarine 2.0 will be hitting App Stores worldwide tomorrow and I have been fumbling around with the idea of doing a press release to announce the HUGE update to the press. I have heard of sites like prmac and such, but I was wondering how essential a press release really is. So, please vote in the poll above, and share any experience you have had with this. I decided to start a new thread just in case any new info has been established, so any advice you can offer would be appreciated! Thanks.

    It's hard to say because everyone's experience is different. I would have to say for the money it's one of the best options.

    Thanks GamersRejoice! Well, I'm working on one now, and will probably send it to prmac. Does anyone have another good press release site for iOS stuff???

    In my opinion, very important. But there's still no "reward" from that if the game isn't up to par (I'm speaking generally here, not about your game, of course!) PRMac seem to have a good reputation. A game could be picked up by review sites or even magazines from a press release and just one reputable review could start a snowball...
