How much does Developer get from $.99 cent sale

I'm somewhat clueless about this cause I am a total noob.

If 1 person buys your game for $.99 cents, how much do you get in your pocket?

(please state where the money goes)

No, Gamesalad doesn't take anything as a percentage.

    Thanks.

You don't need iAd functionality if charging, so why get professional. Am I missing something?

You get your own splash screen when loading instead of the gamesalad one which is important as gamesalad games have a terrible reputation amongst customers and review sites.

Also you get url links. which is good for cross promotion and linking free apps to paid ones.

Now we get gamecenter leaderboards as well.

Also some people use the strategy of making a really great game, offering it for free on the App Store, and monetizing it by putting iAds in the game.

    $500 a year =(

I'd have to sell my app/game 715 times for $.99 cents just to break even.

After reading so many posts, that's pretty hard itself, let alone breaking the bank.

It's only cost effective if you have multiple games/apps in the store. (or one REALLY successful app) Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

If you put effort into making a quality game with some marketing behind it, it is quite easy to make $500 a year.

More than that can be difficult, but if your not creating shovel ware, you should be good.
