Lite version questions

Hi all,

I want to make a lite version of my app and strip out all of the unused stuff to get below the 20mb 3G limit. My main concern is that I am sure deleting some things from my project affected the content (images and actors) in other versions of the same project (earlier saves). Was I imagining this or is this right?

I just want to be sure I am not going to open up my full version to find loads of things missing.

Cheers

LBG

Hi LBG, no worries, especially as you've surely called the GS file you want Your Game Name Lite or similar. It's an independent file with all of your resources bundled with it; as are all of your earlier versions.

Then I read you say "earlier saves".... don't start on a lite version without saving the file with another name!!!!!!!! If you stripped out your stuff and clicked save, it'll update your file and your full version will be lost forever. (Unless you have a copy).

    Good luck!

Thanks Gyroscope. I usually use incremental saves but I'll also throw the "lite" name in there too. That should be ok right?

You've got it, LBG, i.e open your main full GS file; then click on Save As. Keep the same filename if you like then add the word "Lite" to the end, before pressing OK.

I can assure you that you will then have your latest copy of the full program, intact and on your computer, and the lite version then, ready to strip it out.
