Drawing system

hi

I'm trying to get a system where you can draw a line and the character will follow the line? I've tried to adapt ORBZSample line drawer and so far it has been good. Except for a few details. One since I have to constrain the position of the lines, I've had to have it on a timer rather than on every time a line is drawn which if you move to quickly with the line the character doesn't know where to move and also I've got the line starting to draw when you touch the character, this is fine until I release. I've got the character to carry on even after release, but for a reason I can't understand when I try to get a second line the character doesn't want to follow it. Any ideas or help would be great full. I can post the project if it helps

cheers

I didn't really follow all of that, but I would go back to a clean slate with the template and make two global variables one for "lineX" and one for "lineY."

Setup a timer inside the line actor of maybe "after .5 seconds" and inside constrain current position X to "lineX" and current position Y to "lineY". This way each instance of the line actor will she offset by when it was drawn.

Next I would fiddle with how the main actor in the game follows the line positions. Try "constrain to," but it will most likely be to jerky especially on quick swipes. I would look into "move to" and "accelerate toward". Then maybe have a collision rule to destroy the lines after colliding with the main actor,

Hope that made sense. I'm in a hurry right now. Maybe I can help more after i get back from church.
