dungeon master style game

i was going to wait and put up some pic later, but i see another person is making the same style of game. i have the maze part done and a map that will scroll out when touched. going to add the pick up and inventory next i think. here is what i have so far:



the walls are green for now i will be doing the graphics on and off as i go (maybe replace them next lol)

it runs right now at 60 fps

    That's very nice! Kudos!

    I had an idea of a 3D maze kinda game where you'd take the position of the player from the mini-map and then you could tell from that where you were and what to show 3D wise.

    Not sure if it would have worked, but it's great to see others experimenting with some cool stuff!

    that,s exactly how it work, everything on the 2d map (top view) is put into the 3d view, so that way all i have to do is load maps and the 3d view does the rest.

    I was just thinking about how to make 3d style in game salad. Thought it would be quite cool and it is indeed. Good luck with this one. This IS done with GS right?

    going to have to work on my graphics some. I think i will add the walls and an updated map

    I think you've *both* done brilliantly - nice one to both of you for independently coming up with a 3D system in a 2D world!

    Nice thread! I'm also doing some 3D maze levels for a maze game and so far they look nice. Maybe I will also post a video later today.

    Coding it was a real challenge but in the end it was worth it.
