I have an actor in a scene which acts as a "back button" (takes you back to main menu once you click on it).

I have a few scenes which need this exact same actor in them, except it will take you back to another scene, not main menu.

My question is...

Can I use the actor which takes you back to the main menu in the rest of the scenes? I would just edit prototype in that actor so it takes me back to the correct scene and not main menu.

If I understand your question right, you can use the actor in each scene,

in each scene just add the rue: When touch is pressed change scene "choose the one you like"
