Opinions about in-game rating link. A good idea, or dangerous?

I'm considering putting a link in my next game update directly to the ratings. I saw this in an app a while back and think it might encourage people who are enjoying a game to actually rate... but I'm not sure.

This whole question of "freetards" makes me think that, especially with a free game, it might be a good idea. At least it would give an opportunity to rate well before a delete.

Any opinions? Has anyone tried this?

You could have it pop up after a certain number of times it opens up, that's what I'm thinking of doing in my next releases.

bad idea i would think unless you put it after a point of particularly fun interest.

anyhow, how do you plan on doing that from within GS?

I sure wouldn't want to make it annoying, but just available.

Yeah, only pro members could do this.

What I'm going to do is after the game has opened 25 times, popup a message asking for a nice review with a link to the app store page, as well as a cancel button.

I'm just going to have an attribute that is increased every time the game is started, once it hits 25, the next time the main menu is shown it'll pop up.

I'm hoping that people who like the game will see it, people who don't wont :) but the key is to be as un-intrusive as possible.
