Price tier change - discount only available to previous purchaser

I just made my app free for a period, I tested it by downloading on my device and that's the message that popped up - something along the lines of 'this discount is only available to previous purchasers of major versions of this software'. If you have not purchased it, you will have to pay essentially.

Anyone seen this message before? I thought free was free, customers aren't going to be very happy if they see that :S

    Was that on itunes? I have never seen this before on any app ever.

    @tenrdrmer, it was on my iphone 4 device.

    @TSB - I did in fact download it pretty much straight after it turned free, so that's reassuring to know!
