Dear All,
It is 12:14 the theme has just been announced "the end of the world"
Ive already started brainstorming and I've got some pretty cool ideas....
This is going to be my development thread and I am probably going to have a video up by tomorrow...... Unfortunately unlike a lot of people who will be working on this contest....I don't have a lot of time...... I'm hoping to get 2hrs every weekday and 8 hrs on Saturdays and 6hrs on Sundays.. I will be doing my own art *obviously.... Most of my artwork will be done in pixelmator, gimp & inkscapr...... As even though I have photoshop... I like the interface of the less expensive programs

I think I'll incorporate pseudo 3D in my game..... I really want to bring GS to it's extent in this game!

As you know I do love a bit of pseudo 3d, so look forward to seeing what you produce...

I'm sure I should be more drunk than I am, as should you (unless your younger than I think you are)....but a long afternoon and evening of slow drinking and lots of party food has left me in a state of........ hmm......hmmm......mumble...mumble...hmm...hmmm...

@stormystudio HAHA..... Ill really try and work on pseudo 3d then! .... Im keeping the first two days to brainstorming & testing this out in GS.......
Being drunk is really good for thinking out of the box!, Make sure you keep a note pad, pencil & Instructions on how to use a notepad & pencil.... and in the morning you'll have some fabulous ideas and a headache!

Here is a quick preview of the intro for mine.... I don't really want to show bits of gameplay yet....... But i have a month so I'm deffinately not going to rush it.....

I still need to render my 3d earth and put it into the intro....then i need to incorporate pseudo 3d into the menu system which ones after the intro (Video above) And then ill have pseudo 3d in the gameplay aswell!

I'm really interested in your game - I can't imagine a mix between a turtle and end of the world I really like the logo in the vid!

@themoonwalls Thanks!!.... I will explain that the "Aztecs/Mayans who predicted that 2012 would be the end of the world, worshipped the tortoise very greatly!

Ive incorporated a type of visual 3d where i have split up my art into all different actpors and they rotate in such a way that it causes an illusion to sort of make the center object look pseudo 3d...

Turtles, portals, end of the world?

I know! Big huge turtle wants to eat Earth, so people have to escape through portals

I have no idea what's going on, but that's nice, that there are no asteroids :P

hehe Nope thats not my idea!!, I think ill drop the turtle idea, but I've still got some pseudo 3d.......
