Stormy and QS are also from the UK, they once had a meet up and was quite successful. A lot of it comes down to when it is etc. A few people have tried to organise 1 of these and i think they're becoming less successful.

@beefy_clyro i just added them! :), Ya I've tried before but it was unsuccessful, perhaps this time

    Hello guys

I'd be interested in joining u for a London meet. Isn't the Docklands a little out of the way? Should we not make it central London. And won't a conference room be rather expensive? How about a room in a pub?

Yes, I've not been in the forums for a LONG time, and now I'm throwing a spanner in the works!

I'll go with the flow, but cheap and central would be good.

Maybe... I was thinking if we got ten twenty people to go we would only have to pay £10 each and drinks included..

I'd agree with @JamesLewis. I'd be fine with a pub in central. Or perhaps @LeonardDeveloper would prefer a cruise ship to the bahamas? ;)

I'm in London and potentially interested providing costs aren't humungous, ( I'm a student who hasn't made his app millions yet).

I live in Kent, so it's not far for me to travel into London (in fact, commuted there for more years than I care to mention...)

I'm with those who suggest a pub, perhaps hiring a small room/area - not only cheaper but as great as the conference room looks, by the look of it it'd throw a unwanted formal atmosphere on the meet-up, I'm thinking.

I'd also like to suggest leaving it til March time, 'cos it'll be warmer for everyone. (I know, I'm a wimp!!) It'll leave more time for more people to see this thread.

Whatever happens, it'll be great to meet you fellow GSCers. :-)

For all those asking where and when.....
Well I was thinking, This was tried before and as suggested by @gyroscope (David) We should probably meet at a later month.. Perhaps february?, We also need to find a date that suits everyone!,
Where.... How about.... Cant Think of one really.... any meeting room, that is relatively cheaper then sun borne would be good! :)
    @mynameisace

I find it hard to commit to these things as i don't know what will be going on at the time in my life, i have to approach it like the others, i'll be tentative, don't expect me but i may surprise you by being able to drop in. I don't want to say yes i'll come and then don't turn up so if there is such a thing as a maybe pile, stick me in there!

I'm in the same boat as beefy.

Would love to meet up with some fellow gs'ers...though I find it hard to commit mixing family life, full time work and gs time...

But set something up and if I can book a slot in my life to come along that would be great.

I'd give my vote to somewhere informal, a pub or bar by the Thames near a train station and tube for commuters.

Last time I made it ( over a year ago) quantum sheep set it up and we all met at the royal festival bar outside overlooking the Thames . Nice and close to Waterloo station, lots of corona beer was flowing.

If I can make it, I'll hopefully have the day to prepare some stuff to show off on my iPhone..works in progress....old stuff ... New stuff etc etc....oh and bring a charger just incase.

I think I'm free ( wife and kids away) on the Friday 16th feb....?

But otherwise perhaps last weekend in march ?
  • LeonardDeveloperLeonardDeveloper Member Posts: 4,630
16th sounds good, as beefy suggested id like march! :)
  • LeonardDeveloperLeonardDeveloper Member Posts: 4,630
