Yes but on my kindle fire if a sound loops is playing when you quit the app it keeps playing.

MY Fire still has a dreadful sound delay. Its the only thing keeping me from going pro :(

@fzeed - how are you testing on a fire if you're not already pro?
  • fzeedfzeed Member Posts: 247
I emailed myself the viewer. Went on the fire and opened up the APK. On the mac i opened my GS file, then clicked preview. I can test it on all my android devices. They aren't compiled.

Oh, I thought you were referring to a published apk build.

Haven't tested through viewer. I did a build and sound delay is gone just running sound I'm going to try a timer instead of loop

Hmm my build had a very minor delay like half second or less. Still two second delay Tshirt? Do you have your Kindle updated? I'm @ version 6.2.1. @Tshirtbooth I'd be willing to send you my build to see if you get delay with it. You just notice on the read along I have to adjust when the highlighed words start as there is still a slight .3-.5 delay as a word takes about .2 - .3 to say but other than that it's pretty good compared to the 2-3 second delay before.

I still have the same delay on my Fire, i just tested on my 7" Galaxy tab and their is delay on their as well BUT its a very small delay compared to the Fire.

    Is your kindle updated?
  • fzeedfzeed Member Posts: 247
Yes. Keep in mind none of my projects are compiled. Maybe the sound delay isn't present in the compiled projects?
  • mmzbrmmzbr Member Posts: 311
I tested in my Motorola Xoom. Sound Delay gone.
  • The_Gamesalad_GuruThe_Gamesalad_Guru Member Posts: 9,922

so what you guys are saying is that on more powerful devices the sound delay is almost undetectable (well at least that's what it is even iOS has sound delay) right? but kindle fire still exhibit a slight delay.

Sound delay is still ever present for me, i think performance seems better which is great, most my existing and news games run at an acceptable rate but the sound delay is a showstopper for me! I'd probably say its the same as @tshirtbooth, a good 0.5 - 0.75 seconds off which is very noticeable! Im desperate to get some games out, they need to find a solution quickly!
My Fire is at version 6.2_user_3003020 ... dunno what thats about but the 'update your kindle' button is greyed out so i assume there is no update outstanding.

I got my update off the amazon site. It's weird how they do wireless update.

My android builds are still having touch control and physics issues. actor becomes uncontrollable after a while.
  • beefy_clyrobeefy_clyro Member Posts: 5,394
Apple do wireless updates as well now, we're in the age of the cloud, i detest wires and anything that can be done without is the way it should be! Maybe @SaladStraightShooter could update us with what the current plan is for this delay? I pay for pro, i want to use the option of publishing to Android but i simply cannot do it with this delay, it just makes the professionalism of it look tacky!

Looks like Kindle has a new update just out 6.2.2. Yeah but I get way better speeds with wired. Wireless still has limits compared to wired. Doing the update now will report back.

Ah i've just switched the Kindle off as i better get some sleep in a min. Is this update from the Amazon site or from the Kindle itself?
  • beefy_clyrobeefy_clyro Member Posts: 5,394
Ok just switched the Kindle back on and it auto did the update but hasn't improved the sound delay at all :(
  • The_Gamesalad_GuruThe_Gamesalad_Guru Member Posts: 9,922
Yeah no change but it is better but would like to see them get rid of it all. I hope they keep working on it as is the whole reason I bought pro

hey guys, i think the best hack here is just to use sounds as music (there is no delay) and take out your background music....that's my interim solution
  • beefy_clyrobeefy_clyro Member Posts: 5,394
    @Chobbiface - have replied mate.

@jorkos - no background music is terrible as well .. it makes the game feel naked :)

    Can't wait for 1.0 :)

Hey @SaladStraightShooter - Did you see my messages about the Sub folders for Art and sound?
I really hope that got taken into account because (I know i'm no true coder) but that has to be easy and sometimes it's hard to navigate and find the file your after in your gs project. Being able to add our own sub folders would be great!
