An interesting article on 'tactics' for success - thought some might like a read!

Hello all!

My mate Jake forwarded this to me today, and I found it pretty interesting to say the least.

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/39653/Money_and_the_App_Store_A_few_figures_that_might_help_an_indie_developer.php

I'm sure people will argue over certain points (I, for one, think it's a lot quicker and easier to make a game, especially using GS) but overall it gives a nice overview of the market and what people should strive for perhaps.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it!

QS :D

I love reading stuff like that. Thanks for sharing QS. But most of us (I think none) wouldn't have a $100k budget to make any GS game :D

Yep, 100k budgets are unrealistic for most people here!

I like that there have been some real success stories that *haven't* had a 100k budget though! :D

Have read it a couple days ago. Really interesting article. But I'm also disagree about " $100k budget" part. A lot of GS developers, prove that you can make money on Apps without 100k budged.

Always 'good' to read these sobering articles. The encouraging bit, though, was the correlation between the number of games you make and 'success'. As proven by countless others... persistence is the key.

With the $100k thing - well that's mainly wages. So with your own games, you make think they have no development costs. But your time is your biggest asset.
