Removing the white box around actors

Hey, I'm very very sorry if this is a stupid question. This is the first time I've made any sort of game and I was hoping GameSalad would be a good start.

My question is not about the entire actor being a white box, it's just that there's white around the image. How do I make JUST the actor show up? Please and thank you!!

Another method (and a little cheaper than Adobe Photoshop). Would be to use the FREE Preview Application installed on your Apple Mac.
Obviously with Photoshop you have a lot more control, but for a [Quick Background] removal you can use the PREVIEW masking tools.

To Mask out a background do the following:

    1. OPEN Preview on your Mac
    2. OPEN your Image file
    3. Click and Hold on the SELECT option in the Menu Bar
    4. Select the [INSTANT ALPHA] option
    5. Drag your mouse over the areas you wish to remove (ie the background white)
    6. When done press [DELETE].
    7. The background will be deleted.
    8. Goto SAVE AS and save your image as a PNG file.
    9. Done.

I've done a quick video to demonstrate.

    Hope it Helps
