Scrolling Background?

I am trying to do more and more stuff myself and learn from the templates I own. I am messing around with the DBA endless runner and have not been able to figure out how the backgrounds work. Seems like I will get one close to the right size but the other is way off.

Is there a tutorial out there for this?
