No default application specified

I am trying to test my app and am having problems with the provisioning profile. I created the profile and downloaded it, but when I try to install it I get a message saying there is no default application specified to open the document. This is my first time, so I am not sure what it should be opening with. I have watched tshirtbooths tutorial but it isnt helping.

    Do you have Xcode installed?

    no. looks like its gonna take a while to download :/ thanks! that will probably solve a lot of the issues im having.
