I put the white background in there because the body is transparent so the black lines disappear on an alpha which is black.

I've been using this program for years. It used to be called Moho until they were bought out.
I actually like to use it for my vector images. I like how you can taper the ends of lines and actually give them shape. I export my vectors out and bring them into Photoshop for coloring. My older Diddely Sqot images were created that way years ago. So were all the images for my Fly and the props for the game. However I actually animated them in After Effects as I preferred the graph editor in AE. The newest pro version on Anime Studio is probably better than the earlier one I've been using. I would say it's actually a great tool, especially for the money. Give it a try!

Thanks @beefyclyro more to come. I really need to get the pro version so I can import photoshop files and autoscan my color art. In the basic version of Anime Studio you can only auto convert PNG to vetor as a black and white. The Pro lets you do color conversion.

I picked up the pro version. It's pretty sweet, I must say. It's a lot easier to learn than Toon Boom Studio was. Toon Boom does a lot more things, but they are things most people don't need for game development. This software focuses on character animation, and that's all I need. Works great with a Bamboo pad.

Another thumbs up from me - I've had anime studio pro 7 for a while now and it's pretty nice to use, and gives surprisingly good results. I haven't used it for any GS projects yet so I can't say how well it works in that respect, but it's great for cut-out south park style animation as well as more fluid bone based stuff.

Funny I had just bought Debut the other day. Not impressed however (I blame myself thought - I should have researched further). It has a very "Windows" feel to it instead of Mac. Why can't I delete something I click on on the stage? - no I have to delete the layer! Can't import illustrator files, can't export to Png files. Can't right click anything (ironic since Macs never had right click for the longest while). Maybe with some more playing around I will find a use for it but for now its a bit frustrating.
